SHENANDOAH MAN INJURED IN A SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT
(RED OAK) A Shenandoah man was life flighted to Creighton following a single vehicle accident in Montgomery County Thursday evening.
The Red Oak Police Department says at around 7:15 p.m. 64-year-old Socorro Ferenado Zamarron was driving at 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix southbound on Highway 48 near 215th Street when he swerved into the left lane, just missing a head-on collision with a semi. About a quarter mile north of 240th, the vehicle went into the east ditch striking some steel barriers as it went over a concrete culvert. The vehicle came to rest on top of the barriers on the south side of the culvert.
Zamarron, who was not wearing a seat belt, was slumped over the wheel when deputies arrived. When he came to, he was unresponsive to any conversation. Zamarron was transported to the Montgomery County Hospital by Red Oak Rescue and then transported by Life Net to Creighton.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
