(Harlan) A Harlan man faces charges after slamming his car into a home in Harlan early Saturday morning.
According to a press release from the Harlan Police Department, 18-year-old Christopher Hopkins, was charged with OWI First offense and failure to maintain control. The Police Report stated that Hopkins had a blood alcohol level of .160%.
Harlan Police were notified at around 3:59 a.m. The report says Hopkins was southbound on 19th Street when his Ford Taurus struck a tree at 1810 Court Street. The vehicle continued southbound through a yard and crossed Court Street and entered another yard on 1104 19th Street and crashed into the home owned by Christopher Tepe.
The car’s front end was visible inside the home and the entire wall was damaged and items against the wall were also damaged. The Tepe home and yard received $20,000. damage.
No injuries were reported in the accident.
