(AMES) The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input on the proposed replacement of the bridge on U.S. 169 over a tributary to Slough Creek, 2.9 miles south of Iowa 141 in Dallas County.
The proposed project provides for replacing the bridge with a reinforced box culvert, raising the vertical alignment to improve sight distance, reconstructing approximately 875 feet of pavement, and constructing a ditch on the southeast quadrant to provide drainage and snow drifting benefits.
Through traffic on U.S. 169 would be detoured using Iowa 44, Dallas County Road P-58 and Iowa 141.
For general information or to make a comment regarding the proposed improvements, contact Don Stevens, assistant district engineer, Iowa DOT District 4 Office, 2210 E. Seventh St. Atlantic, Iowa 50022, telephone 712-243-3355 or 800-289-4368, email email@example.com.
