ATLANTIC STUDENT PLEADS GUILTY TO ASSAULT
(ATLANTIC) An Atlantic middle school student pleads guilty to all four counts of simple assault during an adjudication hearing Wednesday afternoon.
Cass County Attorney Dan Feistner told KSOM news that the court accepted the guilty plea and scheduled a disposition hearing for a later date. Feistner said the judge made it very clear to the student that these are serious offenses. The judge laid out his terms and conditions and told the student that he may not have any contact in any manner with the victims. A Juvenile court officer was assigned to collect information on the juvenile and the case which will be presented during the disposition hearing in which the teen could be found guilty and receive probation or could be granted with a consent decree.
The 14-year-old was accused of poking four fellow students with a pencil on January 21st.
