(EXIRA-EHK) The Exira and Elk Horn-Kimballton school board held a joint meeting Monday night to make sure everyone is on the same page when it comes to the re-organization vote on June 25th.
Superintendent Dean Schnoes said one of their discussions was how the school board members could be elected. He said currently the Elk Horn-Kimballton Board members are elected by district representation, now they are looking at all At-Large members.
“In going to a bigger school district that we are looking at, the suggestion was to have both school districts accept to have Board members elected At-Large, which would mean that anybody living in the district then could vote for the Board members that would represent the new district; which would be a seven member board,” said Schnoes.
Schnoes said they also talked about forming committees and the rules and regulations of what the school can and cannot be a part of.
The next joint meeting will be held July 22nd in Elk Horn.
