(AUDUBON) The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that sent one person to the hospital Thursday morning.
The accident occurred at around 1:30 am on Quail Avenue near Littlefield Drive, about 7 miles southeast of Exira. 19 year old Ben Gerard Irlmeier, of Audubon, was driving a 2005 Toyota northbound on Quail Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle and went into the east ditch. The vehicle went through the fence and rolled several times, coming to rest on its right side.
Irlmeier and his two passenger, 21 year old Dilan Olesen and 21 year old Molly Boylan, both of Exira, were transported by private vehicle to Audubon. Boylan was later taken by private vehicle to the Audubon County Memorial Hospital.
The damage to the vehicle was estimated at around $17,000. The accident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
