(Atlantic) March 25 through the 29 is Severe Weather Awareness Week. All citizens, businesses, schools, healthcare facilities and public facilities are encouraged to participate in Wednesday’s tornado drill by practicing what you would do in a real tornado warning.
“The goal is to heighten awareness and think about what you would do in an actual tornado,” stated Cass County Emergency Management Director Mike Kennon
A statewide tornado drill slated for Wednesday at 10:15 a.m.
“We will set off all of the sirens throughout the county and participate as a county in this statewide tornado drill,” said Kennon.
Both the weather services in Omaha/Valley Nebraska and Des Moines are expected to activate the weather radios during Wednesday’s drill.
Kennon says he has a few weather radios to give away so those that are interested can give him a call at 243-1500.
