(Corley) Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Shelby County Monday morning.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says the crash occurred at around 6:45 a.m. on Highway 59, one-mile north of Corley.
According to the report, 31-year-old Salvador Anguiano, (An-whoo-ee-an-o) of Omaha, Nebraska, was northbound and lost control due to the icy road condition. The vehicle entered the southbound lane and collided with a 2005 Dodge Stratus, driven by 30-year-old Justin Andersen, of Harlan.
The crash closed Highway 59 until emergency crews arrived and routed traffic onto the east shoulder. Both vehicles were a total loss. Anguiano and Andersen were both taken by Medivac ambulance to Myrtue Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Anguiano was cited for failure to maintain control.
The Harlan Fire Department assisted at the scene.
