(CORNING) There is a new state of the art, locally owned, concrete plant locating in Corning.
Chris Cole, General Manager, is excited about their products and services, “We are thrilled to bring this quality product and provide local services to Southwest Iowa. Echco Concrete will begin taking orders in late April and the portable plant will be up and running by the first of May with the permanent plant built this fall. Echco will import top quality materials that are not currently available in our area which will create a high quality product.”
Mike Henningsen, President of Echco, said, “We will offer the same high standards for quality and customer service, that Henningsen Construction is known for.” (Henningsen Construction is a top provider in asphalt and metal building construction. They provide employment for up to 200 people in southwest Iowa). Mike also said, “For those of you who think Echco sounds familiar, you are right. Echco harkens back to the Atlantic, Iowa region where my grandfather, E.C. Henningsen, and my dad, T. G. Henningsen, started Echco Ready Mix in the early 1960’s through the mid-1970’s, operating 5 trucks.”
Scott Akin, Industrial Chair for the Adams Community Economic Development Corporation, said, “This project will not only bring quality concrete for a 30-mile radius of Corning, but also create between 10-12 new jobs, increased property taxes and sales tax revenues that advance economic development for our region. We believe they will be a great community partner.”
“We are looking for qualified ready mix truck drivers and plant manager,” said Cole, “We will be advertising in regional papers in the near future. We’re not just a concrete supplier; you will also be able to purchase sand and decorative rock for your gardening or landscaping projects. We want to become your top choice for all your ready-mix concrete needs.”
