(Altoona) Cass County Sheriff's Deputy Ben Bartholomew was honored at the Annual Iowa Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau Conference last week. This is the second straight year Deputy Bartholomew has been recognized for being the most active drug recognition expert in the southwest regiona for removing drivers that are impaired by drugs other than alcohol.
"Every Officer is out there working hard to keep people safe and remove impaired drivers," stated Bartholomew. "But it is nice to have people specifically trained to identify drug impaired drivers that are not easily identified but can be just as bad as alcohol impaired drivers."
Deputy received the award during a ceremony at the the Conference in Altoona on March 20.
