RED OAK COMMITTEE STUDIES DOG PARK
(Red Oak) A committee wanting to build a “Dog Park” in Red Oak is meeting later today Bill Drey, Chairman of the Red Oak Tree and Park Board says several years ago the city of Red Oak and the Red Oak Chamber of Commerce conducted a community wide survey and came up with 7-projects they wanted to do by 2011. A dog park was one of them.
“It’s a place where people can take their dogs and have them on a leash,” stated Drey. “The city of Red Oak has a leash policy for dogs when they are outside.” Drey says local option sales tax money would help fund the project.
The committee is looking at feasibility for a dog park to accommodate both large and small dogs and report back to the Red Oak Tree and Park Board at their April 14 meeting.
The meeting starts at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon at the Red Oak Chamber and Industry Association Office, at 307 Reed Street. The meeting is open to the public.
