SHELBY COUNTY ADOPTS GUN ORDINANCE FOR COURT HOUSE
(HARLAN) Shelby County is one of several counties around the state adopting gun ordinances for the county courthouse. The new gun laws in Iowa have given less authority to County Sheriffs. The resolution prohibits firearms and other dangerous weapons from being brought into the court house with some people such as officers and members of armed forces being exempt. The charge for anyone caught with a weapon in the courthouse would be simple misdemeanor with a trespass charge.
