IOWA DOT APPROVES ADDITIONAL HIGHWAY AND BRIDGEWORK IN SOUTHWEST IOWA
(Ames) The Iowa Department of Transportation approved an amendment to the 2011-2015 Improvement Program that will advance the letting of some road projects in southwest Iowa.
The amendment advanced numerous road construction projects into this calendar year, including these Guthrie County projects; The replacement of the Highway 25 bridge over Mason Creek, Highway 25 from Highway 141 to County Road E-63, and Highway 141 from Coon Rapids to Highway 4.
The DOT also moved the Highway 2 construction project in Ringgold County from Highway 25 to Mt. Ayr into this calendar year.
Changes to the Transportation Improvement Program were possible because of additional funding that was made available after the program was approved in June and amended in October. The additional funding is available due to favorable construction project lettings and Iowa Department of Transportation budget savings.
