CAM EDUCATION ASSOCIATION PRESENTS CONTRACT PROPOSAL TO INTERIM BOARD
(Anita) The CAM Community School District Interim Board met for a public hearing and meeting at the CAM high school media center Monday night. The Board held a Public Hearing to adopt the Instructional Support Levy.
The Interim board consisting of Chuck Kinzie, Gary Dinkla, Randy Rabe, Nick Kaufman, and Todd McKee voted unanimously to adopt the instructional support levy.
The board also received a negotiation proposal from the CAM Education Association, which includes a 6-percent salary increase. The first proposal is to address the language of the two schools districts master contracts and make changes needed to make it one master contract for the new CAM school district.
Second, the teachers propose a 6% salary increase to be distributed on the salary schedule in a manner that will bring the C & M teachers on to the salary schedule as well as give the whole teaching staff a raise from their last year’s salary. In addition, the teachers propose adding a TSA to the C & M teachers that are coming into the Anita pay schedule, to match what the Anita teachers are currently receiving.
Third, we propose to keep the insurance at its currently level of coverage and deductibles, with the possible addition of dental and disability insurance offered by the C & M School District.
The final proposal is to address the addition of career increments, similar to C & M schedule, to the salary schedule as their teaching staff begins to reach the top of their salary lanes.
The board also discussed insurance options for combining insurance policies with the two districts.
