(Des Moines) What was forecast to be a major winter storm turned out to be a yawner, but what about round two on Sunday night?
Carl Jungbluth, with the National Weather Service in Des Moines says the Sunday and Monday storm is a little bit tough on the predictability side, as meteorologists call it.
“At this point it looks like the major impact from the storm will be through southern Iowa and that could change,” stated Jungbluth. “However we are currently looking at snowfall amounts of 3-5 inches.”
Jungbluth admits if this storm system takes a path a little farther north we could get into a heavier snow event. Even though he is hesitant to put an exact line on the storm now, the current model is showing a line from northeast Kansas through the Iowa Missouri border to the Quad cities area.
