(Red Oak) A note found by a wireless computer at around 9:00 a.m. led Red Oak School Officials to lock down the High School Monday morning. The unsigned note stated that the person wanted to harm students and themselves with a weapon. Administrators say the note could have originated from any computer in the media center.
Half dozen Red Oak Police Officers searched the school for weapons in the hallways, lockers and backpacks, but came up with nothing. Officers also interviewed some students in an effort to identify the author of the note. Students were prohibited from leaving their classrooms without a teacher during the four hour lockdown.
Red Schools Superintendent Terry Schmidt says the person that left the note could face criminal charges for making threats as well as a “short-term,” discipline procedure or expulsion.
