TWO ATLANTIC CHEERLEADERS SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN SHRINE BOWL
(Atlantic) Atlantic High School cheerleaders Sierra Larsen and Carli Thornton have been selected to participate in this years Shrine Bowl. Larsen says they were among 120 cheerleaders who tried out and 60 were selected. As part of the Shrine Bowl week activities, both the cheerleaders and the football players will get an opportunity to interact with children in Shriners Hospitals.
For Larsen it will be an extra special honor to participate in the Shrine Bowl as she has been helped by the Shriners in the past. Larsen has Perthes disease which is a hip displacement condition and is looking forward to giving back.
The Shrine Bowl will take place Saturday July 23rd at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames. Both Thornton and Larsen need to raise $500 to participate in the Shrine Bowl. Anyone interested in buying tickets or simply making a donation can contact Rob Thornton at Nishna Valley Cycle (243-6343) or Rhonda Larsen at KSOM/KS95.7 (243-6885).
