(HANCOCK) The annual maple tree tapping at Botna Bend Park in Hancock will take place March 2nd at either 10 or 11 am.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of tapping the Silver Maple trees at Botna Bend Park. Visitors are invited to join the Pottawattamie County Conservation staff in learning more about maple trees and to experience the tapping process firsthand, including how to drill a tree tap and how sap is boiled into syrup. If the sap is flowing, participants will have the chance to taste the sweet sap as it drips from the trees.
