(Atlantic) Usually this time of year the precipitation comes in the way of snow, but not this past weekend, the moisture came in the form of rain.
“We did have some rain over southwest Iowa over the weekend with rainfall amounts generally in the 1-to-2 tenths of an inch range,” stated Rod Donavan, with the National Weather Service in Des Moines. “Atlantic itself was actually a little bit lower according to the AWOS reporting station at the airport.”
Donavan says Atlantic received just under one-tenth of an inch and Audubon had .15 hundreds of an inch of rain. Donavan says southeast Iowa received one-half inch of rain this past weekend. The forecast is for milder weather late this week.
