(Red Oak) No one was hurt when a Red Oak Fire Department Rescue unit struck a Red Oak Police cruiser Wednesday.
The Montgomery County Sheriffs’ Office says the Rescue Unit and Police cruiser were parked at an emergency call in the 600 block of East Joy Street. While Rescue personnel and Police Officers exited their vehicles and were inside tending to the emergency, the rescue unit began to slide down the ice and snow packed street and collided with the Police cruiser.
The 2011 International Rescue unit sustained $500 damage to the right rear bumper. The Patrol car received between $1500-$2000 damage to the front end.
The Montgomery County Sheriffs’ Office was assisted at the scene by personnel from the Red Oak Police Department and Red Oak Fire and Rescue.
