(Anita) Construction on the new CAM multi-purpose facility is expected to begin this summer. The district received six bids and Monday night, the CAM School Board awarded the construction contract to Jensen Builder’s with the low bid of $584,800.00.
CAM Schools Superintendent Steve Pelzer says the gym that also doubles as the lunchroom is too small.
“So in the winter time when it is too cold to go outside the kids have no where to go, and they have to sit in the hallways and play board games during recess,” stated Pelzer. “And with the new regulations for physical activity we felt it was vey important that we build a facility that is consistent with our other centers.”
Pelzer says the new facility, that will be built north of the elementary building, will provide more space for P.E. classes, recess, and will also include; two small classrooms, and restrooms.
The project is expected to be completed by August 20th.
