(LEWIS) Registration forms for local farmers interested in attending the “Evaluating Your Estate Plan for Farm Families” workshop are due this Friday (January 25th). The workshop will be held January 28th from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at the Armstrong Research Farm near Lewis.
Evaluating Your Estate Plan is an all-day workshop that gives participants tools and the chance to use those tools to help them prepare or revise an estate plan. The program will cover topics including the language of estate planning, needed information, setting goals, and gift, estate, and inheritance taxes. A portion at the end of the day will allow participants to being the planning process.
Presenters are Melissa O'Rourke and Kelvin Leibold, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Farm and Agribusiness Management Specialists. O'Rourke is an attorney who has experience in agricultural law and estate and succession planning. Leibold has been helping farmers with management and business decisions for decades.
