(ATLANTIC) A traffic stop in Cass County leads to a large drug bust.
Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Scott Bright told KSOM/KS95 news that troopers stopped a vehicle on eastbound I-80 for speeding Wednesday morning. The trooper suspected criminal activity and called in the K9 unit. The K9 alerted on the vehicle and during a search 363 pounds of marijuana was discovered. Sgt. Bright said the average street value for the marijuana is around $2,400/lb.
The arrest remains under investigation and the suspect’s name has not been released at this time. Sgt. Bright did say the individual was on the way to Minnesota.
