(STUART) Nominations for the Guy Powell Award are due January 20th.
The Guy Powell award recognizes excellence in leadership and passion for economic development in the Midwest Partnership Development Corporation region including Adair, Audubon, Greene and Guthrie counties.
Chad Schreck, Executive Director of the Midwest Partnership Development Corporation, says the award is given every year during their annual dinner.
“Guy Powell had actually been a board member at Midwest Partnership for several years and a past president and he passed away and this is something in his memory,” said Schreck. “He was a strong believer in the potential of the region for growth, the great family environment and all it is has to offer.”
Schreck added, “It’s basically an award that is intended to go to somebody that is dedicated to their area, they’re committed to helping to grow it, a couple things that we really ask people to consider in their nominations is their vision, their leadership, their courage to make a difference and the impact that they’ve made.”
Information to include in the nomination is:
-The name and address of the nominee (person, group or business being nominated)
-Name, address and phone number of the nominator (person completing the nomination)
-A brief statement (500 words or less) on how the nominee has made an impact on their local community and/or region through volunteer service.
Nominations can be sent to Chad Schreck at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 515-523-1262.
The winner will be announced at the annual dinner at Lake Panorama on January 24th.
