(Atlantic) A Cass County man remains in custody on numerous charges following an incident in Lewis last week.
Cass County Sheriff Darby McLaren says 43-year-old Paul William Jessen was arrested at a Lewis residence on a Department of Corrections Warrant for a Parole Violation on January 7 following a short pursuit.
“We had suspicion that Mr. Jessen, who was wanted on a parole violation that was traveling in a vehicle that I attempted to stop” stated Sheriff McLaren. “I turned around the vehicle and he took off followed by a short chase. He exited the vehicle and broke into a house through a window.”
“We got enough officers to surround the house along with a K-9,” said McLaren. “A short time later Jessen surrendered peacefully.”
Williams was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. That charge stemmed from a substance found in the vehicle that he ran from. McLaren identified it as methamphetamine.
Jessen is currently in the Cass County Jail and held without bond on the Parole Violation warrant.
