(Onawa) Nebraska’s Omaha Tribe has reopened its Casino under a new name and has plans for new construction.
The 2011 Missouri River Flood damaged the Casino formerly known as CasinOmaha. Saturday the Casino opened its doors again as the Blackbird Bend Casino.
The tribe plans to build a new building six feet higher to avoid future flooding problems. It will be located just southeast of the old casino.
The new casino will have more than 150 employees. Construction is scheduled to begin in March and take about 13-months to complete.
