(Atlantic) The Trial date for an Atlantic man accused of domestic abuse assault has been moved to May.
According to Courts on-line, 45-year-old Rex McDermott was arrested on October 13, 2012, following an incident that allegedly occurred at around 7:53 a.m. at R & B Feeds in Atlantic. McDermott was arrested by Atlantic Police and charged with willful injury causing bodily injury. He was taken to the Cass County Jail. McDermott posted bond five days later and was released.
Cass County Attorney Dan Fiestner added a third charge of strangulation causing bodily injury on December 21, due to a change in the criminal code that allowed for the amended charge.
A pre-trial conference is scheduled for May 6. The Trial is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. on May 29. The trial was orginally scheduled for January 8.
