(ATLANTIC) White Knuckle Driving School in Atlantic is a new business offering students another opportunity to take a driver’s education course.
Michael Magers, Owner/Instructor, said the classes will be open to everyone in Atlantic and surrounding areas between the ages of 14 and 18. Magers said the State of Iowa requires anyone under the age of 18 to successfully pass a driver education class. Students must obtain a minimum of 6 hours of on the road instruction and 30 hours of classroom instruction and all students must possess a valid instructional permit before the class starts.
“Basically I get you prepared so that when you go out to drive you will be able to understand what you need to do as far as maintenance of the vehicle, changing a tire, checking the air pressure, things like that,” said Magers. “We’re also going to deal with stuff like licensing and titles. We’ll learn what we need to do to actually become a good driver out on the road.”
The cost of the class will be $300 per student. A $50 non-refundable registration fee should be paid prior to the start of class. Magers said he plans to have around 3 three classes per year and class sizes are limited.
Magers will be holding an open house on January 20th at 3 pm at the Playtime Roller Rink in Atlantic to seek interest in the program. If you are unable to attend the open house, but are interested in the driver’s education course, contact Magers at 712-249-3995 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Magers is licensed, bonded and approved by the State of Iowa to teach the classes.
