(DES MOINES) Some light snow is expected to arrive Thursday night.
The National Weather Service says an upper level disturbance will move into Iowa Thursday with additional energy arriving Thursday night and Friday. An area of light snow will develop across the state by late Thursday and will continue to last into a portion of Friday. Accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are possible especially along and north of Interstate 80 by Friday afternoon.
Winds with this system will be at 5 to 15 mph therefore blowing snow is not expected to be a factor.
