(Johnston) This weather may have some people re-thinking their travel plans this weekend, ahead of Christmas. Mindy Berends with the National Weather Service Office in Johnston, offer some encouraging news for those planning a road trip.
“We still may see some drifting of snow and some stronger winds, but right now most of the winds on Saturday into Sunday are expected to be fairly calm, and I think road conditions should be fairly decent by this weekend,” stated Berends.
Law Enforcement agencies have been offering a lot of winter-driving safety reminders, as motorists get re-accustomed to slick conditions, such as take your time, slow down, buckle up, watch out for slick conditions on bridges and overpasses, and remember to pack emergency supplies in the event you get stranded.
