(Anita) The CAM School Board set a bid date and a public hearing for the construction of a 100x70 foot multipurpose building at the North Elementary building.
“This was included in our capital projects plan, because we felt it was really needed at the North Elementary,” stated CAM Schools Superintendant Steve Pelzer. “The current facility doubles as our lunchroom and there is just not enough space for the students to get out and actively use for activities and recess. We think this will be a great addition.”
The addition will include a gym area not for competition, but primarily for programs, recess and Physical Education. There will be one classroom in the building that will be used for band and vocal music, along with restrooms and a storage area.
The Bid date is set for January 17, and a public hearing will be held at the January 21, board meeting.
Steve Pelzer said the facility is being funded totally by existing funds. There will not be any tax increases. The District will be using the state penny and PPELL funds.
