(Atlantic) For nearly eleven years the Farmer’s Kitchen in downtown Atlantic has been serving up burgers and sandwiches to the public. That will change on December 22nd.
After spending the past year looking for someone to take over the restaurant, owner Mark Johnson says the decision was made to close the doors.
"We've got to take care of our health now and unfortunately I couldn't find enough help to take over so we had to make that tough choice."
When it comes to memories Johnson points to meeting and serving the customers and says the restaurant’s homemade food helped set them apart.
"It's been a great two and a half years and if I get my health back we might do it again.”
Johnson urges the customers with gift cards to make sure they stop in. The Farmer's Kitchen will close on the 22nd of December.
