(Harlan) If you haven’t mailed your Christmas Packages or cards just yet you still have time. Harlan Post Master Joann Miller says depending on where it is going December 15 is the latest you would want to mail a package overseas and it would take about a week to 10-days to arrive at its’ destination.
“The earlier the better,” stated Miller. “But I would always suggest putting delivery or signature confirmation on your packages so you can track them to find out when they get there.”
Miller says the deadline for priority mail is December 21, December 20 for first class mail, and December 14 for parcel post which is ground service.
“We can still take express mail on December 22 to get it there in time for Christmas,” said Miller.
December 17 is the busiest Christmas mailing day across the United States when approximately 658-million holiday cards and packages are sent out.
