(Clarinda) A Nebraska man was accidently shot while pheasant hunting in Page County Saturday.
DNR Spokesperson Kevin Baskins says 18-year-old Ryan Rearick, of Omaha, Nebraska was shot in the back of the head at fairly close range by his father Christopher Rearick, also of Omaha. Ryan Rearick was taken to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak and later flown to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha where he was listed in stable condition.
Baskins said Rearick could have been fatally injured had the gun been loaded for deer hunting instead of being loaded for pheasants.
