(Atlantic) As reported earlier this week the Iowa Western Community College bond issue has passed. This will allow for improvements to the Cass County Center’s state of the art design technology program. Iowa Western President Dr. Dan Kinney explains that some of the money will go towards improvements in the computer lab.
"The computers in the design tech program are really state of the art so their capability is more than the capability we have in that building so that's one of the things we have to do to make that work better."
The improvements should enhance the learning opportunity for students within the program.
The additional money will go towards implementing a study area into the Cass County Center.
"Most people would call it a library, but anymore the library is all on the internet anyway, so it's really more of a resource area for the students to be able to study during the day when they aren't in the classroom."
Bids have not yet been submitted for the cost of these projects, but they are estimated at $400,000.
