(Atlantic) Atlantic Municipal Utilities customers will not be receiving a post card billing statement after December 26. AMU is switching to a full page billing statement starting January 1, 2013, with a reply envelope for sending the remittance slip and payment back to the utility.
AMU General Manager Steve Tjepkes says though the postcard billing statements have served them well for many years, it is just becoming more cumbersome to maintain. Therefore the time has come to convert over the full page statement.
Tjepkes says the advantages are as follows; they will be less likely to get lost in the mail, the full page billing statement is easier to read, have a more detailed level of information, and gives AMU the capability of adding multiple accounts to one billing statement. The new system will also allow for better tracking of information and processing payments and better protect customer information.
Customers will also be able to access their bill though AMU’s website to make a payment online or check a detailed statement history.
