(State) As of Wednesday the statewide average for a gallon of gas in Iowa was at $3.29. That number is predicted to decline over the next two weeks.
We’ve all heard the phrase ‘pain at the pump’ far more often than we would probably like. However gas prices have remained steady or even declined since September. The price for a gallon of gas in Atlantic on Wednesday was $3.09. Could it dip under $3.00 for the first time in two years? Gene LaDoucer with AAA says don't count on it. The statewide average may drop closer to $3.00, but finding a station with gas at $2.99 will be rare
LaCoucer says the steady or even declining price of gas is not unusual during the winter months. A lack of family vacations during the winter months plus stability in the crude oil market are the two main factors influencing the gas prices.
Iowa’s statewide of average of $3.29 is 14th lowest in the United Stats. Missouri enjoys the lowest statewide average of $3.12 per gallon.
