(Oakland) The $14.3 million dollar Riverside School Bond issue failed by a narrow margin Tuesday.
Riverside School District residents from Carson, Macedonia, Oakland and residents in these out lying areas went to the polls Tuesday to decide whether or not to build a new 7th through 12th grade school on the south edge of Oakland.
According to the Pottawattamie County Auditor’s Office 59-percent of the voters said yes, but fell just short of the 60-percent super majority needed to pass. The vote came in 941-yes, to 649-no.
This is the third time a bond issue failed in this district.
