(EMERSON) A Shenandoah woman was injured in a rollover accident south of Emerson early Sunday morning.
The Mills County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Carol Backus was driving a 2005 Cadillac northbound on Highway 59, south of Emerson, when she crossed the center line and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle dropped off onto the shoulder on the west side of Highway 59 and continued down the hill where the vehicle rolled twice in an open field. The car came to rest on all four wheels approximately 35 feet from a power substation.
Backus was transported to the Montgomery County Hospital by Red Oak Rescue.
