(Des Moines) The flu bug has now been reported all across Iowa and State Medical Director Patricia Quinlisk say there is always an increase in cases right after the holidays.
“The levels are still relatively low so that is good news because it means that there is still time for people who haven’t gotten a flu shot to get one and still be protected for most of the season,” stated Quinlisk. “But don’t wait too much longer because it is out there and it is spreading across the state of Iowa."
She says the viruses seen this year are nothing new but they can still put healthy in bed and the elderly and young in the hospital.
