(ATLANTIC) An Arizona man fell asleep at the wheel, causing an accident on Interstate 80 early Saturday morning.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says 48-year-old Dale Elmer Laparr, of Kingman, Arizona, was driving a 2010 Dodge Caliber eastbound on I-80 near the 59 mile marker when he fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle drifted into the breakdown lane, striking a legally parked 2000 Lincoln LS, with no one inside.
No injuries were reported. The damage to Laparr’s vehicle was estimated at $12,000. The damage to the Lincoln, owned by Zan Loroa, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was estimated at $6,000. Laparr was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
