(ATLANTIC) The Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce and Wal-Mart are inviting area residents to enjoy the lighted parade this Saturday through downtown Atlantic.
Megan Roberts, Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, said Santa visits and free carriage rides begin at 3 pm at the City Park, living window displays in the downtown businesses begin at 5 pm and fireworks kick off the parade at 6 pm.
“The lighted parade is always a fun tradition in Atlantic where we bring together lots of organizations and businesses with lighted holiday floats to drive down our lighted, beautiful downtown and just kind of celebrate the holiday season,” said Roberts.
Roberts said entry forms can be submitted just prior to the parade at 6th & Chestnut. Line-up will be on Walnut Street by 5:45 pm.
There are several other activities planned for Saturday as well. Including the 5K Jingle Jog by the YMCA at 8 am, the BPO DOES Cookie and Candy Walk from 9 am to noon at the Elks Lodge, the Festival of Trees at the Catholic Parish Center from 10 am to 7 pm, the Lullabye Foundation’s Bedtime Stories with Santa’s Helpers will be from 5 to 6 pm at 405 Chestnut Street, and many refreshments will be offered along Chestnut Street before the parade.
