(RED OAK) A Creston woman was killed in a car vs. deer accident in Montgomery County Wednesday night.
The Iowa State Patrol says 26-year-old Shawnna Michelle Curtis was driving a 2008 Ford Edge eastbound on Highway 34 when the deer entered the roadway. The deer collided with the vehicle and went through the windshield, hitting Shawnna Curtis. The vehicle continued eastbound on Highway 34, leaving the roadway and entering the north ditch where it rolled once.
Curtis was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Curtis’ vehicle, 9-year-old Lydia Powell, of Creston, was transported to Creighton Hospital by Life Flight.
