(Atlantic) The Atlantic Police Reserves are sponsoring the 5th annual Family Dream Christmas.
The program is for Cass County residents only. During the program Atlantic Police Reserves will furnish the Officers and transportation to take the selected families shopping in Atlantic for groceries for Christmas dinner, gifts for the children from their parents and gifts for the parents as well.
“It makes my Christmas every, it puts a smile on my face, and I like to see all the kids smile, it brings joy…it really does,” stated Jeff Hackell, a member of the Police Reserve unit is steering the co-chairing the event.
“We spend a lot of time doing different things throughout the community the entire year and to be able to work on something that is 100-percent positive brings us a lot of joy,” said Cody Claussen, Co-chair for the event. “It is fun to help people out.”
The Police Reserves will be accepting cash donations from now through December 15. Donations can be dropped off at the Atlantic Police Department or at Masker’s Plumbing and Heating. They are asking for primarily cash donations.
Applications for families wishing to participate can also be picked up at the Atlantic Police Department or at Masker’s Plumbing and Heating. Applications are due on December 5 by 4:00 p.m. After all applications have been received, they will be reviewed and the chosen families will be contacted. There is no set limit on the number of families chosen; it will correspond with the amount of donations received. The Police Reserves will try and help as many families as possible.
The Atlantic Police Reserves would like to thank everyone in the past that has helped and would also like to thank those of whom are anticipating on helping with this program.
