(ATLANTIC) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved the final plat for the Walnut Grove Subdivision at their meeting this morning.
Rich Hansen, Zoning Administrator, told the Supervisors that the process started about two years ago. The Wright’s bought the property and wanted to sub-divide it into a housing development with four lots. Hansen said it took some time to finalize the plat because there were some issues with the water line.
“They were hoping rural water was coming in down there around last March but that fell through so they went back to square one as to what they were going to do, so finally they got an agreement and Petersen did drill himself a new well, he does not want anything to do with the easement going across the property,” explained Hansen. “So, the Zoning Board felt that’s the only thing that was holding them back and they want to approve the final plat as it was presented. This water line thing is settled.”
The Walnut Grove subdivision is located on the old Research Farm property south of Atlantic on Highway 6.
