(LENOX) The Lenox Police Department is searching for a man who fled from officers Saturday night.
According to a post on the Lenox Police Department’s Facebook page, Lenox Police attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding in the 100 block of Van Buren at around 10:17 pm Saturday. The white Chevy truck refused to stop and continued for about 4 ½ miles onto gravel roads before stopping. The driver ran into a field and Police were unable to locate him.
A search of the vehicle recovered a Guatemalan I.D. card and Officers identified the photo of the man on the card as the driver. Police are looking for 27-year-old Gaspar Chay-Merida, with a last known address in Sioux City, Iowa. He is described as a Hispanic male with brown eyes and brown hair, 5’8” tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a t-shirt and no coat.
