(AUDUBON) The Audubon School District was named one of the Des Moines Register’s Top 100 Workplaces in Iowa for 2012.
Audubon Superintendent Brett Gibbs said the school was nominated by one of their employee’s last spring and they agreed to fill out the survey. He said if you obtain a certain score, you are named one of the Top 100 Workplaces.
“It’s divided up by category, obviously we’re not in the same competition as the larger business places are, but I think we were the only school named in our size of the business group, so we’re very proud of that,” said Gibbs.
Gibbs said it is nice to know that there are people that work at the school that think enough of the people they work with and really appreciate working there.
“Hopefully it means that people feel like they’re appreciated here, what they do is appreciated here and that they’re part of a successful team,” said Gibbs. “I think, like all of us, when you come to work you like to feel like you’re contributing and that people appreciate what you contribute and hopefully that’s what this means to the people; that they’re part of something bigger than just themselves and they enjoy coming to work and look forward to being here.”
Any organization, including businesses, nonprofits and government agencies with at least 35 employees in Iowa could participate at no cost. Des Moines Register readers were asked to nominate employers and Workplace Dynamics invited 931 organizations to participate. Last spring, 164 organizations who employ 103,800 people in Iowa were surveyed.
