(Atlantic) Operation Christmas Child will begin accepting donations on November 12. Operation Christmas Child delivers shoeboxes of gifts to children in need.
Stacy Pellett is a co-coordinator of the event with the E-Free church in Atlantic and says this is the third year of the project and they are hoping to see another big increase in the number of boxes collected.
"This year we are getting lofty and we are looking for 3,500 boxes from around southwest Iowa."
Pellett adds that all of the boxes this year will be going to warm climates so fill them accordingly.
"Fill it up for a boy or a girls ages 2-14 and fill it with things that you think will make them happy.”
Some things to avoid would be electronics and perishable food items. Boxes can be dropped off at the E-Free Church from November 12 through the 19th.
