(Atlantic) If you are looking for something to do this weekend how about heading out to the McCurdy’s Pumpkin Patch located at the junction of Highway 6 and Highway 71 east of Atlantic. Ann McCurdy and her husband John own the patch and have a great crop despite the drought.
“We have a beautiful pumpkin crop,” Ann McCurdy said. “We were worried all summer about the crop and maybe numbers are a little down but the fruits that the plants did put out are just wonderful.”
The McCurdy’s irrigated two acres and the ten acres that weren’t irrigated still produced a great crop. They have already been shipping out pumpkins whole sale across Iowa and they are looking forward to having everyone out to the patch which opens this weekend.
Those hours are Saturday’s from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday’s noon-5:00 p.m.
