(Atlantic) Today is the first day you can cast a ballot in the November election. Polk County Auditor Jamie Fitzgerald says he expects a big crowd today at election headquarters. If you want to vote before November, there is also the satellite voting option, which begins October 8th.
“We are seeing more people that want to vote by mail and we are also seeing people petition for satellite sites,” Fitzgerald said.
He is predicting that 35-percent of the eligible voters in Polk County will vote before November 6th.
He notes that 14-years ago at this time, Polk County had received 14-thousand ballot requests, its’ nearly double this time.
Cass County voters will be able to cast their ballot for the November 6 General Election starting today in the Cass County Auditor’s Office. Residents that wish to vote by mail must submit a written request should be mailed or hand delivered to the Auditor’s Office. A ballot, with instructions will be mailed to the person requesting the ballot.
